Terms of service
Last updated September 2026
These are the plain-language terms for working with roboBOREALIS, the studio that builds, hosts and looks after your website. They cover what you get, what you pay, the commitment on each package, how to cancel, and who owns what. If anything here is unclear, just ask before you sign up.
Who these terms are between
These terms are between you (the person or business paying for the site) and roboBOREALIS, based in St. Petersburg, Florida. By starting a package or sending a project through the contact form, you agree to them.
What you get
A website built on modern technology, hosted and looked after by us. Each package (Star, Constellation, Galaxy) lists exactly what is included: number of pages, database and CMS, media, and support level.
The package you pick is the agreement. We will confirm it in writing before any work starts, so there are no surprises.
What you pay
A one-time setup fee, then a flat monthly price. You can pay month to month, or pay a year up front for the lower rate shown on each package. Prices are in US dollars and do not include any taxes that may apply.
Setup promotions (a discounted or waived setup) are real launch offers on the standard setup price. If an offer has ended, the standard price applies.
Commitments and minimum terms
Star is billed a year up front, or on a one-year agreement. That commitment is what makes its low setup and monthly possible.
Constellation has no minimum term. You can cancel any time. Moving up from Star to Constellation ends the Star one-year commitment.
Galaxy has a six-month minimum, because its discounted setup is recovered over the monthly fee.
If you cancel before your minimum term is up, the remaining months of that term are still due.
Cancelling
You can cancel after your minimum term by telling us in writing (email is fine). We stop billing at the end of the period you have already paid for.
Prepaid time you have already used is not refunded, but your site keeps running through the period you paid for.
Your site and your data are yours
The website, and the content and data in it, belong to you, not us. There is no lock-in.
When you leave, we give you an export of your data and help you move the site or hand over what is needed to host it elsewhere. We only ask that our own reusable code and tools stay ours.
Hosting, uptime and backups
We host your site on managed infrastructure and take daily backups. We work hard to keep it fast and online.
We do not promise 100% uptime at these prices. Occasional short maintenance windows or outages can happen. When something breaks we fix it as quickly as we can, and faster for higher packages.
Your content and conduct
You are responsible for the words, images and other content you give us to publish, and for having the right to use them.
We will not knowingly host content that is illegal, infringes someone else’s rights, or is used to deceive or harm people, and we can take a site down if it is.
Edits and support
Each package includes a level of edits and support. See the package details. Larger or ongoing changes beyond what your package includes are quoted separately, and we agree the cost with you before we do the work.
Changes to the service or a price
We may change a package, a feature, or a price. If a change affects what you already pay, we will tell you at least 30 days ahead, and you can cancel before it takes effect if you do not agree.
The honest limit on our responsibility
We build and run your site carefully, but we are a small studio. To the extent the law allows, what we owe you if something goes wrong is limited to the amount you paid us over the few months before the problem.
We are not responsible for lost sales, for data you did not let us back up, or for problems caused by services outside our control.
Questions
Anything unclear, or want this in a formal signed agreement before you start? Email us and we will sort it out. This page is written to be readable. It is a plain-language summary, not legal advice.
